Susan Bone graduated with a Masters of Fine Art from the University of Ulster Belfast, in 1992. A BA Hons degree in Drawing and painting was completed at Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland the previous year.
While attending Edinburgh College of Art, she was nominated to apply for Yale University's Summer School of Music and Art in Norfolk Connecticut, USA. Susan's experience attending the 8 week programme had a deep impact on her practice.
In recent years a more sustained approach to painting practice resulted in participation in the group show 'Where is the what, if the what is why?' in the Sternview Gallery, Cork, in 2016, followed by a one person show in Cork's Film Centre, Ballincollig, Co Cork, in October 2020.
In 2022 a painting was accepted for the open show at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin, and again in 2023, for the 193rd RHA Annual Exhibition, on its bicentenary year.
In July 2023 Susan will be a participant in the Brelingen International Artists Residency programme, Brelingen, Wedemark near Hannover, Germany.
